Quiet line test

Quiet line test

If advised to perform a quiet line test the procedure is as follows;

  • Insert a 'known good' (working) telephone into the hidden test port inside the master socket
  • Dial 17070
    • Press option 2 (quiet line test)
    • Listen for noise ("pops", "buzzing", "clicks"); there should be silence

If the test shows that there IS noise on the line then the customer should contact the PSTN line supplier; this fault must be rectified first before escalating a broadband fault.
